Applications · Quality inspection

Inspect the product while it is being built, not after.

Arkite VISION adds a Vision sensor to the workstation and checks the product before the next step starts. A deviation is shown on the workbench immediately, together with the instruction to correct it.

The operation

Quality control inside the assembly process

End-of-line inspection finds defects after the value has been added. A missing washer or a part mounted the wrong way round then means disassembly, rework or scrap.

Arkite VISION is the third maturity level of the platform. It builds on VALIDATE, which confirms what the operator does, and adds inspection of what the product looks like at each critical step.

Inspection capabilities

What the Vision sensor checks

01

Presence of small parts

Components from 0.5 cm, such as washers, clips and screws.

02

Orientation

Correct orientation of parts, including symmetric parts such as gears.

03

Position

Placement within a configurable tolerance in X and Y.

04

Quality classes

Multiple result classes per check, each with its own rework path.

05

Non-rigid shapes

Shapes that vary by nature, such as bent cables or glue dots.

06

Snapshots

Product images can be stored with the unit record when configured.

How Arkite works here

Inspection as a step in the workflow

  1. 01

    Teach the expected result

Engineers teach good, bad and missing examples in the Arkite software, without programming.

  2. 02

    Inspect during assembly

After the relevant step, the Vision sensor, mounted 0.5 to 2 m above the product, checks the result before the workflow continues.

  3. 03

    Guide the correction

If a check fails, the location is highlighted on the product and the operator receives a specific rework instruction.

  4. 04

    Record the outcome

The result is logged against the order and serial number, optionally with a product snapshot.

Software 2026.2

AI detection that runs on the workstation

Since software version 2026.2, VISION uses AI detection algorithms for more robust results and better stability when the sensor shifts slightly.

The algorithms are included in the VISION license and run locally on the workstation. No internet connection is required, and no product images leave your network.

AI also supports the engineer: with the optional AI job generation, inspection steps can be part of a job generated from a written description, which the engineer reviews and finalizes. See Arkite AI for data handling and licensing.

  • Up to three sensors per workstation: one Arkite 3D sensor plus two Vision or RGB sensors
  • Mixed-license deployments: VISION only where inspection is required
  • Inspection results available in the same database and dashboards as all other production data

Data captured

Quality data per unit

  • Inspection result and result class per check
  • Errors: what, when and on which workstation
  • Rework actions performed
  • Product snapshots stored with the unit record
  • Step durations and cycle times
  • Complete step log per serial number
