The challenge

Onboarding, flexibility and quality on modular stations

Bosch Marignier assembles different products on a range of modular workstations. Introducing new employees to these processes was difficult: the variety of stations and the need for precise assembly methods made the learning curve steep.

The modular stations also had to stay efficient when the product mix changed, which called for guidance that adapts quickly. And meeting customer expectations for product quality required consistent and accurate execution at every station.

Requirements

  • Bring new operators up to speed on precise assembly methods
  • Adapt guidance quickly when products change on modular stations
  • Connect tightening operations to the guided process
  • Secure consistent quality across all four workstations
The solution

Process guidance with tool and BOM integration

Bosch Marignier deployed Arkite on four workstations, each equipped with a 3D sensor, projector, industrial PC and touch screen. Arkite projects clear process guidance for picking and assembly actions onto the work table, so new operators can follow complex procedures step by step.

Arkite communicates with Desoutter smart tooling, linking tightening operations to the guided process. The bill of materials is streamed directly to Arkite, which keeps the instructions aligned with the product data.

Implementation

How the stations work

  1. 01

    BOM in

The bill of materials for the product is streamed to Arkite.

  2. 02

    Guided picking

Projections indicate which component to pick next.

  3. 03

    Guided assembly

Digital work instructions are projected onto the work table for each assembly action.

  4. 04

    Tool integration

Desoutter smart tools are integrated into the guided sequence.

Results

What Bosch Marignier achieved

01

Adaptability

When new products are introduced, the platform adapts quickly, with a short transition and less downtime during setup.

02

Faster onboarding

With instructions projected onto the work table, new operators need minimal external guidance and gain confidence sooner.

03

Higher product quality

Comprehensive guidance contributed to a marked improvement in product quality.
